Along with training and resources, 316 Octane encourages youth to participate in events that make a difference, giving them an opportunity to serve the lost and to spiritually mature.
Networks of churches plan and lead both Bible studies and other types of events, immediately putting into practice their training. Both students and youth workers utilize the skills they have learned while under guidance from the Octane Team.
Events are divided into 3 sub-categories. A standard event, set up by an individual network of churches, can range from an afternoon event to an all day project. A super event, facilitated by 316 Octane, ranges from an overnight activity to a weekend retreat. Finally, a mega event, also facilitated by Octane, would include 3-10 day events, such as a service trip or convention.

Of all of the resources and opportunities that 316 Octane develops for youth ministry, the weeklong mission trip to Mexicali, Mexico remains the highlight of the year. The trip is offered primarily for high school youth by Mexico Outreach, an organization located near the Mexico border in Asuza, California. Youth groups that join 316 Octane in this short-term mission are expected to develop a weeklong Vacation Bible School complete with skits, crafts, and games. In Mexico, they are connected with a church to run the school for 5 days for Mexican children. Check out photos from this year's trip here. Informational meetings will begin in October and cross-cultural training in December! Please fill out the necessary forms for the trip. Check the calendar for meetings scheduled in your area, or contact Amy Carrier to set up a date and time for the mission team leaders to visit your church youth group. |

This gives you a sneak peak at the mission that you are supporting! Immediately following dinner will be a silent auction including small and big ticket items. Some of last year's items included Pistons tickets, a private plane ride over Lake St. Clair and 10 hours of in-home construction.
